Registering Service Animals – Partners
These instructions are for students registering service animals in training. If you are a student who, due to your disability, uses a service animal, visit this page for information on voluntarily registering your service animal.
The steps to register your service animal in training are:
- Complete the Service Animal and Partner Registration Form
- After completing the online form, please call 706-542-8719 or email drc@uga.edu to schedule a registration appointment.
- During the meeting, you will receive an electronic version of the policy regarding service animals on campus and have an opportunity to discuss any questions that you have about the registration process and having the service animal on campus. Upon completion of the training, you will be able to pick up a tag identifying your service animal as registered from Accessibility and Testing’s front desk.
- Instruct any alternates who will assist you with the service animal to complete the Alternate Registration.

Registering Service Animals – Alternates
These instructions are for students registering as alternates to assist with service animals in training. If you are the primary partner of a service animal in training, see this page for instructions on registering your service animal in training.
The steps to register as an alternate are:
- Complete the Alternate Registration Form.
- After completing the online form, please call 706-542-8719 or email drc@uga.edu to schedule a registration appointment. Please note when you schedule the appointment if you need the registration meeting to have captions.
- During the meeting, you will receive an electronic version of the policy regarding service animals on campus and have an opportunity to discuss any questions that you have about the registration process and having the service animal on campus. Upon completion of the training, you will be able to pick up a tag identifying your service animal as registered from Accessibility and Testing’s front desk.
- Remind the primary partner you will assist to complete the Partner Registration.
