Scholarships and Awards

We are now accepting DRC Scholarship Applications through April 30, 2020.  To be considered for a scholarship the complete application must be turned in by April 30th.

Scholarships and Awards available to Students with Disabilities

To be eligible for awards and scholarships through the Disability Resource Center, you must be a UGA student, registered with the Disability Resource Center and have completed at least one semester of classes at UGA, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and expect to be registered for classes during fall semester 2020.

If you would like to nominate an Outstanding Faculty Member for the Disability Resource Center’s Annual Scholarship/Award Reception, please email Amanda Hales, ahales@uga.edu, with the name of the faculty member and a paragraph explaining why you nominate this faculty member.

Awarded to student who will be a junior/3rd year during fall semester 2020

Carey Louis Davis Scholarship

Awarded to students with a learning disability

Choate Family Scholarship

Dale Gibson Memorial Scholarship

Preference given to a student who is deaf or hard-of-hearing

Elizabeth & J.C. Faulkner Scholarship

Awarded to students with a learning disability or a related disability

Gregory Charles Johnson Scholarship

Preference given to a student with a physical disability

Hamilton Family Scholarship

Preference given to a student with narcolepsy or other neurological disorders

Janis Family Scholarship

Awarded to students with a psychological disability

Joe Coile Memorial Scholarship

Applications and letter of recommendations should demonstrate qualities in dedications, character and compassion

John and Frances Mangan Family Scholarship

Preference given to a student with a visual impairment

Lauren Melissa Kelly Memorial Scholarship

Preference given to a student with cystic fibrosis

Lupuloff Family Scholarship

Awarded to a DRC student

Margaret Ann Towson Scholarship

Preference given to a student with a visual impairment

Margaret C. Totty Memorial Scholarship

Preference given to a student with a brain injury or other neurological disability

Matthew Peddicord Memorial Scholarship

2.0 GPA, Preference given to a student with a chronic illness

Michael E. Merriman Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students with a learning disability

Orkin Scholarship

Awarded to a DRC student

Radcliff Scholarship

Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA), Preference given to a student who has had a disability since childhood. As a need-based scholarship, as additional release through OSFA is requires to share your information.

Weldon H. Johnson Access Abroad Award

Awarded to students participating in an eligible study abroad program for resident credit
