Disability Specialist Carla Topp

Carla Topp joined the staff of the Disability Resource Center team in 2004. She has served in the capacity of disability specialist since 2006. In this position, Carla works to provide equal educational access for students with disabilities, particularly those with ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Carla also promotes disability awareness through activities of the student group, LEAD, in which she serves as co-advisor. Carla earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University, and then received Special Education Certification in the areas of Learning Disabilities and Other Health Impaired. She held teaching positions in regular and special education in California and Georgia for fifteen years. Carla also worked as an adult educator as part of the Georgia Department of Adult and Technical Education and Department of Labor collaboration to re-educate displaced workers. Carla is a member of the Georgia Advocacy Office's Parent Support Leadership Project and Georgia AHEAD.
