Tips for Requesting Textbooks
In order to process your requests for alternative media, we will need the following information:
- Please deliver a copy of your syllabus to the Alternative Media Coordinator or email to altmedia@uga.edu after classes begin
- How do I know which textbook is required?
- Academic departments assign textbooks by Course and Call Number.

- To find completed information on Title, Author(s), Year, Edition, and ISBN:
- The University Bookstore

- Call the main number at (706) 542-3171 and ask for Textbooks, OR
- Visit the UGA Bookstore OR
- Visit the University Bookstore and check the shelves, or ask for assistance.
- Department

- Call, email, or visit the department that is offering the class you will be taking. You can find departmental contact information and locations online at the Department Directory or through UGA Directory Assistance at (706) 542-3000.
- Professor or Instructor

- Call, email (sample letter), or visit your professor. You may need to schedule an appointment, or call to find out your professor's office hours. You can find contact information and office locations.
