Procedure for Requesting Special Housing Assignments or Accommodations
- Student Responsibilities:

- Students requesting special housing assignments or accommodations need to register early with the DRC due to the need for planning.
- If accepted to the University, students should immediately register with the Department of Housing and the DRC so special assignments and accommodations can be coordinated.
- Students must adhere to the Department of Housing's registration procedures and deadlines.
- Students should be prepared to discuss specific housing needs based on the functional limitations of their disability.
- Disability Resource Center Responsibilities:

- Determine if the student's request is an appropriate accommodation under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) during the interdisciplinary team meeting.
- Submit the Housing Accommodation memo to the appropriate housing administrator.
Note: The DRC's recommended housing accommodations do not override the policies of any particular agency, office or department.
